SERVICE NSW (TRANSPORT NSW) - REGULATOR REQUIREMENTS
Anyone who teaches, tests, or assesses another person to drive or varies their driver’s licence and receives money or reward is required by law to hold a driving instructor licence. Before you can get an instructor licence, Transport for NSW (TfNSW) needs to be assured that:

- You’ve passed the driving instructor theory and practical tests.
Once this is confirmed, you can apply online, and TfNSW will send you a ‘Letter of Eligibility’.
You must then enrol in a driving instructor training course with Intelligent Training Solutions or a recognised training provider. You have 6 months from your application date to complete the course.
When you successfully complete the training course TfNSW will make their final determination as to your suitability to hold an instructor licence.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: Intelligent Training Solutions will train you to the requirements of the TLI41222 qualification. The TLI41222 qualification is the ONLY nationally recognised compulsory benchmark in and throughout Australia.
