TLIC3036A Apply Safe Car Driving Behaviours
Thank you for taking an interest in the TLIC3036A Apply Safe Car Driving Behaviours unit of competency. This unit is generally required for applicants wanting to join the Police Force, CFA or MFB. This unit may also be required by employees or local councils where staff are required to drive company vehicles. The unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge involved in high-level safe driving and provides the knowledge required by car drivers to enable them to apply safe driving behaviours. This unit includes the application of higher order skills, such as hazard perception, risk control and safe driving judgement, decision making and multi-tasking. The unit builds upon basic driver licence requirements. The Nationally Recognised Unit of Competence for this subject is: NOTE: This unit of competence does not constitute a formal qualification and therefore will have no effect on a participant’s ability to enrol into a Higher Education or TAFE course in the future.In order to successfully complete this unit you must complete a series of theory and practical sessions covering topics such as:

The theory component for this unit must be completed online prior to undertaking any practical sessions. For those students that like the personal touch, our training rooms in Preston, Victoria will be available to our participants every Tuesday and Friday.
Training Location
Intelligent Training Solutions deliver this unit in a blended format. The theory sessions are conducted online and support is provided to participants via video conference, webinars and face to face sessions. The practical sessions involved with this unit will commence from Preston, Victoria 3072. The practical sessions for this unit can also be delivered in a number of different locations across Victoria. Additional costs may be involved depending on your requirements. Please speak with our Training Manager to discuss alternative arrangements if required.
Course Duration
This unit is flexible in delivery with the unit being delivered all year round. Participants should allow a minimum of 8 days to complete this unit of competence.

Training Materials
It is preferable that enrolled participants have:
- Working pens
- A4 lined workbook (minimum 20 pages)
- An active email account
- Access to a working computer and printer with Internet access
- UV approved sun glasses, sunscreen 30+ minimum, sun hat and suitable driving shoes. No thongs will be allowed in our vehicles.
