At the time of this notification, No Registered Training Provider (RTO) had been exempt from their obligation to meet the Performance Evidence (Practical hands-on components) of any first aid course in lieu of an online course. Thank you for your interest in the TLISS00155 Road Safety Skill Set known better to us as our Safe Driver Program. The Road Safety Skill Set is the only Nationally Recognised Program focused on Road Safety, targeted at Secondary School students (Years 10, 11 and 12), and all importantly, on successful completion, provides the participant with a Nationally Recognised Certificate within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system that holds both value and weight for your student’s future employment in almost any sector or industry.

Interactive, research-based, and informative, this skill set is designed to improve the road safety outcomes for our most vulnerable road users long term. The Road Safety Skill Set promotes self-reflection and the identification of connecting self-worth and positive on-road citizenship.

To promote student buy-in, each course highlights the specific individual municipality (shire) road safety concerns of the program participants including, and not limited to, their local crash types, demographics, and hot spots.

STUDENT SUPPORT

Student support is a cornerstone of our organisation. As this course is completed in full over a maximum 4 hour period, it is not expected that you will need any type of additional support outside of the classroom to successfully complete this course, regardless, if you are a full time, part-time or blended delivery student with Intelligent Training Solutions, you will always have access to your course trainers or support officers, both before and after the completion of your course. Whether you wish to engage our services on a daily basis, once a week or in blocks is up to you. We have scheduled student support times as well as an ability to generate a support service at any time via our website. VICTORIAN COURSE FEES FOR 2020

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR CLASS OR SCHOOL FOR THIS PROGRAM

If you would like to register your school for this skill set, you will need to contact the course coordinator on 03 5415 0215 or 03 5415 0216. Alternatively, click the online registration button below to have our coordinators contact you.

 

OUR REGISTRATION PROCESS

Once you have registered your school for this program, the following process is applied:

STEP 1)

You will receive a confirmation text message (SMS) from our office informing you that we have received your registration.
NOTE: This text message may take between 1 to 12 hours to arrive as this message is only sent to you when one of our team members has your registration form in their hands.

STEP 2)

Step 2 of the registration process involves our course coordinators making contact with you to discuss your school’s needs, requirements and intended outcomes. This step may require a few conversations depending on your school’s objectives.

STEP 3)

Once step 2 has been determined and agreed upon, one of our course coordinators will arrange a date and time to come out to your school and meet and greet the class. During this introduction, each participant will be required to complete an online enrolment form into this skill set. With the assistance of the classroom teacher, our coordinator will guide each individual student through this enrolment process.  

STEP 4)

During the fourth and final stage in the registration process, you will receive a final email from our enrolment team. This email will confirm the names of the participants enrolled in our skill set.

IMPORTANT NOTE: INVOICING FOR THE ENROLMENT FEES OF THIS SKILLS SET WILL BE HANDLED BY OUR ACCOUNTS TEAM IN CONSULTATION WITH YOUR SCHOOLS ACCOUNTS OFFICER.

Intelligent Training Solutions started life as a workplace training organisation, delivering courses directly to schools and clients at their locations. Today, onsite delivery remains a core strength of ours when it comes to helping schools, business, large or small, find solutions to their training needs.

The Intelligent Training Solutions Training Centre is located at Building 7, 16a Keilor Park Drive, Keilor East, Victoria 3033. Our administration office is located in Riddells Creek, VIC 3431.

COURSE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

This Road Safety Skill Set does not have any required eligibility criteria as stated by the TLISS00155 skill set criteria. This program is intended for secondary school students in Years 10, 11, 12 and VCAL.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

No licensing requirements exist for this skill set. There are also no practical drive sessions involved with this course. If you are interested in an on-road or off-road practical element for this course, please speak with our course coordinator as we do offer add-on modules to this program.

COURSE ENTRY RECOMMENDATIONS

This skill set is available to any Secondary School student in Years 10, 11, 12 and VCAL. It is recommended that participants have basic Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills (ACSF Level 2*) and have the physical ability to participate in light physical activities related to selecting a vehicle.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

INDUSTRY AND REGULATOR APPROVED REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS

It is a requirement of this Road Safety Skill Set that some demonstration or participation of practical elements (no driving involved) must be demonstrated and performed by participants.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the following reasonable adjustments have been approved for use by our state regulators, the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC), the Australia Industry and Skills Council (AISC) and the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE). COVID-19 reasonable adjustments include:

  • A no-contact approach to delivery and assessment with students and staff

On top of the reasonable adjustments issued by our regulators, Intelligent Training Solutions has also implemented the following COVID-19 safety measures as part of our delivery and assessment:

  • Equipped our trainers with commercial-grade disinfectant to use on all classroom surfaces and contact touchpoints such as light switches, door handles, benchtops, classroom tables and chairs etc…
  • We have implemented new equipment disinfecting procedures which include sanitising and disinfecting all equipment before and after classes regardless if the equipment has been used.
  • We have hand sanitiser available for use to all our staff and students. Hand sanitiser is available in all public spaces and in our classrooms.

This skill set and the units of competency that make up the Certificate of Completion must be assessed both theoretically and practically in accordance with the TLISS00155 course criteria. The assessment will be based on the principles of competency-based training (CBT). A successful outcome for this course will be determined by a range of different methods including:

  • Either (one or the other) an online or written submission of work
  • Observation of simulated and practical activities
  • Structured questioning or discussions.

Even though Road Safety is a serious topic, we pride ourselves on our fun, practical and engaging format that simulates real worlds scenarios. Our courses contain a lot of valuable video content to ensure participants remain engaged rather than listening to war stories of trainers past experiences. All our trainers and assessors are highly qualified, experienced driving instructors and Road Safety consultants. Our standards are high to ensure that the information you receive during this course is current and practical and not just taught by a ‘first aider’. We believe in providing you with highly qualified trainers that have real industry experience.

This TLISS00155 Road Safety Skill Set is part of the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package and may be used to support new road uses and road safety qualifications.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

Due to the intended target group of this skill set, RPL is not applicable for this program.

 

ADDITIONAL ENROLMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This training may involve moderate physical activity including kneeling and bending down near a motor vehicle. Intelligent Training Solutions does not accept any responsibility for any harm suffered by you as a result of your participation in the course. If you have any special needs (including those in relation to Language, Literacy or Numeracy) a relevant disability or condition, or any other concerns you should raise these prior to enrolment.

Intelligent Training Solutions will provide all the required resources and textbooks required by this program.

 

STUDENT REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

It is recommended that all course participants provide the following equipment to successfully participate in this program:

  1. Working pens and highlighters for use on the course.
  2. A4 lined workbooks for taking notes (minimum 150 pages)
  3. An active and working email account
  4. Photo ID to confirm your identity

 

UPON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THIS COURSE

Upon successful completion of this Road Safety Skill Set, course participants will be issued with a Certificate of Completion within 30 days of course completion.

PLEASE NOTE: As a general practice, Intelligent Training Solutions works towards issuing Statements of Attainment (SOA) within 14 days from the successful completion of your course, however, please note that failing to provide our office with your correct USI details will delay any type of credential.
