Congratulations to Victoria with only 15 cases reported today. With the upcoming prospect of re-opening, our team are making the necessary changes to our COVID save plan, ensuring our training centre is compliant with the COVID standards, cleaned prior to re-opening, and organising staff so that we are ready to assist you as soon as we can.

Hello everyone,

It comes with no surprise that we have been fielding phone calls and emails from students this morning after yesterdays announcements by Daniel Andrews. Our management team is currently working through the information provided and we hope to release information regarding our courses over the next 48 hours. Our team has been closely monitoring the information to ensure that we are prepared to move forward as soon as we are allowed to. 

RU OK? DAY

You may be aware that this Thursday is RU OK? Day. This day aims to highlight the need to check in with family, friends, colleagues, neighbourhoods, especially in these unusual COVID times.

 

R U OK? is intended to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and start a conversation with anyone who may be struggling with life.

On a different note, Intelligent Training Solutions will no longer be posting COVID updates for the weekend (Saturday’s and Sunday’s). As many of our courses are currently delivered as remote delivery and we don’t have any practical training scheduled for the upcoming weekends, we have decided to hold weekend updates until they become relevant again. Your next update will be on Monday the 24th August 2020.

With regard to our report back on the 12/08/2020, our team member received a NEGATIVE test result for COVID-19. 

No other reported cases of coronavirus amongst our staff and students have been reported across our network of students or staff.  All student support and remote delivery services are online and operational.

With regard to our report back on the 12/08/2020, our team member is still reporting no signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and is still awaiting results.

18th August 2020

With regard to our report back on the 12/08/2020, DHHS made contact and informed our team member that they wanted a COVID-19 test done to rule out the possibility of exposure. Our team member has the COVID-19 test and is now awaiting results.

No other reported cases of coronavirus amongst our staff and students have been reported across our network of students or staff.  All student support and remote delivery services are online and operational.


17th August 2020

With regard to our report back on the 12/08/2020 whereby one of our administration team was flagged by the DHHS as a close contact of someone who had been exposed to COVID-19, there are no additional updates. DHHS continues to check in with our administration team to confirm that they are self-isolating and not presenting with symptoms. Today marks the 13th day of the potential exposure (close contact) and to-date our staff member has reported no signs or symptoms. The DHHS doctors continue to make daily contact via text message. We have been told that unless signs or symptoms are to present themselves on the 14th day, DHHS is unwilling to test our administration staff member for COVID-19 stating that once a person has reached the 14th-day mark without presenting with any signs or symptoms, the person or close contact in question is considered not to have been exposed.

No other team member from our administration team or any other department has been contacted by DHHS and classified as a close contact of a close contact. 🙂

With the exception of yesterday’s announcement whereby one of our administration team was flagged by the DHHS as a close contact of someone who had been exposed to COVID-19, there are no additional reported cases of coronavirus across our network of students or staff.  All student support and remote delivery services are online and operational.


12th August 2020

It was reported this morning that one on our administration team was contacted by DHHS and has been identified as a ‘close contact’ of someone who has been exposed to COVID-19. All close contacts of this administration team member have now been contacted and made aware of the potential risk. As the Keilor Office was closed to the public during this period, no student within the Intelligent Training Solutions community has been affected by this news.

The ITS training centre has also been disinfected with special attention being given to the staff room, tearoom and bathrooms.

Hi everyone,

As reported on the 05th August, a member of staff was presenting with flu-like symptoms, and subsequently was sent home and asked to get a COVID test. This afternoon at around 1.00 pm, those test results came back and we are happy to report that the results were NEGATIVE, the COVID-19 virus was NOT DETECTED :), just as exciting as a negative result is the outcome that the member of staff in question has also made a full recovery from their flu-like symptoms. 🙂

There are no reported cases of coronavirus across our network of students or staff.  As previously announced yesterday, a member of staff in our Student Support department did display flu-like symptoms and was sent home for a COVID test. No additional information is currently available.


05th August 2020

There are no reported cases of coronavirus across our network of students or staff. A member of staff in our Student Support department has displayed flu-like symptoms by way of a fluctuating temperature. This member of staff was sent home at 12 pm and ordered to get a COVID test. All contact touchpoints where disinfected. The outcome of this suspected case will be posted here in the coming days.

Effective from the 06th August 2020, our East Keilor training centre will be closed to the public and our students. All student support services, general enquiries and administration services will remain open and can be accessed remotely or by calling our office.

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Tuesday. The following update has been provided by our CEO effective midnight Thursday 05th August 2020. These changes will affect people students who live in the Metro Melbourne area and are currently in Stage 4 restrictions.

Intelligent Training Solutions will be able to continue to operate in a restricted capacity throughout Metro Melbourne during the Stage 4 restrictions. The following changes apply to each course:

CAR AND/OR HEAVY VEHICLE DRIVING INSTRUCTOR COURSE

This course will continue being delivered with the following restrictions.

The theory components of the CDI or HVDI courses will continue to be delivered via remote learning. Over the next few days, our team will establish a remote learning studio to enable live remote learning classes between students and trainers. Detailed information on how your trainers will deliver remote class will be sent to each enrolled students over the next few days.

The practical components of the CDI or HVDI courses will be postponed until Monday 14th September 2020 at which point we will review the advice provided by the Victorian Government.

TEST AND TAG COURSES

This course will continue being delivered with the following restrictions.

Students enrolled, or who intend to enrol, into our Test and Tag courses will be offered the opportunity to complete their theory component via live remote learning sessions. Practical assessments for this course will be postponed until Monday 14th September 2020 at which point we will review the advice provided by the Victorian Government.

FIRST AID COURSES

Our Keilor East first aid courses will be postponed until Monday 14th September.

If you are an essential worker and are required to complete your first aid, asthma or anaphylaxis course as part of your employment in health, children’s services or aged care, we ask that you contact our office. We will do our best assist and support you through this period.

BUS TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT

All BUS training and assessment will be postponed until Monday 14th September 2020 at which point we will review the advice provided by the Victorian Government.

STAGE 3 AREAS

For those living in a Stage 3 restriction zone, education remains 1 of the four reasons to leave your house which means that it is business as usual for our training venues which are located in a Stage 3 area. Like last time, we do expect that some of our venues may be asked to close their doors again so please keep your eyes on this page for regular updates.

INTERSTATE COURSES

At this point in time, our interstate courses currently operating in South Australia, New South Wales, and the ACT are business as usual.

STAFF MOVEMENTS

Staff movement in Keilor East will remain the same for the remainder of this week as we set up and prepare for remote learning activities.

Today, the Victorian Government has announced a number of changes to restrictions for Melbourne and regional Victoria. Please be advised that we are currently working through these restrictions with our regulators to determine the extent to which these restrictions may to our staff and students. We expect to release additional information Monday 03rd August in the afternoon.

Hi everyone,

The premier of Victorian announced this morning that from midnight on Sunday 02nd August, face coverings would become mandatory for all of Victoria, including all regional areas. This means that as of Monday the 03rd August, we will be asking that all our students wear a face mask or a face covering when studying with us at any of our training locations throughout Victoria.

For updates on our which of our training venues in Victoria are open and which venues are closed, we will be adding a Training Venue Status feature to this page throughout the day. Please check back shortly for this new feature.

Just as a reminder, In the event that you are experiencing flu-like symptoms on the day of your course, please call our administration office on 03 5415 0204 and we will provide you with a credit note and transfer you to another course without penalty. For those students currently studying with us in a Certificate level qualification, if you are unwell, please call your course coordinator and we will arrange a make-up class for you at a later stage.

As of today, we will be introducing temperature testing for ALL our students regardless of the training venue you visit.

Temperature testing is something that the Department of Education and Training has specifically asked us to do. Although it is currently just for high school students who come to us for vocational training, we have decided to extend this policy to all our students at every training venue throughout Victoria.

Face masks or face coverings are now compulsory when studying with us at our East Keilor training centre.

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder to those students studying with us at East Keilor, as of tomorrow the 22nd July, face masks or face coverings must be worn while at our East Keilor venue. The penalty for not doing so is a $200 fine.

This means that staff and students arriving on campus must already be wearing a face mask. If you are not wearing one, you will be asked to leave our training centre.

Specific information for RTOs has today been provided by the Department of Education and Training:

  • All staff must wear face coverings at, and when travelling to and from, work
  • Teachers will not be required to wear face coverings while teaching, but those who wish to do so, can.
  • Teachers should wear face coverings in other areas of the building when not teaching (for example, in the staffroom)
  • All students who are attending our RTO for their study will need to wear a face-covering
  • The includes when travelling to and from training
  • A person who has a medical condition – including problems with their breathing, a serious skin condition on the face, a disability or a mental health condition – is not required to wear a face covering.
  • Individuals will be expected to supply their own face coverings.

There is a lot of information available about types of face masks and coverings, both from an official health perspective, which you can read here (noting that this information was published before the rule change to make mask-wearing mandatory).

20th JULY 2020

As of 11.59 pm on Wednesday, the 08th July 2020, residents who live in the Melbourne metropolitan area and the Shire of Mitchell have been forced back into Stage 3 restrictions and must not leave their home unless it is for the four original reasons permitted. If you live in the Melbourne metropolitan area and the Shire of Mitchell area, you will be allowed to leave your home for work or study with us. If you live outside of the Melbourne Metro and Mitchell Shire, you are allowed to enter Keilor East to attend our training venue for work or study.

As of 11.59 pm, Wednesday the 22nd July 2020, every student who attends our training venue in East Keilor, regardless of their postcode, will be required to wear a face mask while studying with us.

Students who live in the Stage 3 area may attend our training centre if they are free of any flu-like symptoms. Every student regardless of their postcode will be offered the opportunity to complete all theory components at home requiring attendance on practical sessions only. For those students who still prefer face to face tuition, we will continue to operate classes with our current social distancing and hygiene protocols in place.

Our training centre remains open and is probably one of the most hygienic spaces you will come into contact with. We are situated in a specialised location and do not have general foot traffic interaction. Our students can move from the car park to within our building with minimal to zero contact with anybody.

To keep our students up to date, our team are calling students regularly with updates relating to their study and our every changing hygiene and cleaning protocols. We are also using email and text message to confirm the information provided to students over the phone. We recommend you check your Intelligent Training Solutions student email or personal emails frequently for official updates and announcements from our college that will be relevant to you.

⭐ CLASS SIZES ON ALL OUR COURSES HAVE BEEN REDUCED

⭐ Due to the recent announcement regarding Stage 3 restrictions, for the next six weeks starting on the 08th July 2020, we may be required to move some of our courses currently conducted through our community centres and Neighbourhood Houses to our own Training Center located at Keilor East, Victoria 3033. This change in venue will be re-assessed at the end of the six week period in line with the Victorian Government review on the current COVID-19 restrictions.

⭐ As a proactive measure, each student enrolled with us will be offered the opportunity to complete any theory-based learning components at home (online) with attendance only being required for practical training sessions. For those students who prefer face to face tuition, we will continue to operate classes with our current social distancing and hygiene protocols in place.


HEALTH AND HYGIENE INFORMATION

The health, safety and wellbeing of the Intelligent Training Solutions community is our priority. The best way to protect yourself and those around you is to maintain good hand and respiratory hygiene. The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) offers advice on general health and hygiene practices to reduce your risk of COVID-19

  • Wash your hands regularly, after using the toilet and before eating. Dry your hands thoroughly with a disposable paper towel or a hand dryer
  • Cover you mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing with a tissue or cough into your elbow, dispose of the tissue into a bin. Wash your hands afterwards
