Road Safety Victoria - March 2025 UPDATE

Good morning to all our past and present CDI and HVDI students,

Some of you may not yet be aware that, from 1 March 2025, Victorian Magistrates have the option to decide whether or not to cancel a driver’s licence of a person who tests positive for THC on and is using prescribed medical cannabis.

It is important to note that these changes do not affect existing impairment drug-driving laws in Victora. It is still illegal and an offence to drive or ride with any amount of THC in a person’s system, include any amount of THC from medicinal cannabis. To help share this information with you, Road Safety Victoria has created an information pack (see attached) for your review. We encourage you to share this update with your fellow driver trainers.
